This Year's Model Updates:

To celebrate 20 years of building minivans, Dodge will offer an Anniversary Edition package for the Grand Caravan with such features as chrome wheels, two-tone leather upholstery, embroidered floor mats and an in-dash CD/DVD changer paired with a rear entertainment system. Additionally, the company has simplified the trim level structure this year, so that buyers need only choose a base SE, a midlevel EX or a top-of-the-line SXT. The Grand Caravan also gets a tire-pressure monitor, upgraded audio systems and a new integrated key/remote.

Pros:
  • Excellent ride and handling characteristics, good low-end pull from 3.8-liter V6, roomy cabin, comfortable seats.
Cons:
  • No fold-flat third-row seat, unimpressive reliability history, subpar frontal offset crash test score, low resale value.

  • Great Minivan! - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

I have to admit that I researched Consumer Reports and based on their recommendation I looked at the Toyota, Honda, and Nissan without giving this vehicle a chance at first. I then decided not to limit my options and tried the Dodge. The Dodge Grand Caravan SXT has a smooth and quiet ride that matches the Toyota and is better by a large margin over the noisy Honda and rattle prone Nissan. A powerful engine that gets excellent gas mileage (Im averaging 21+ MPG). The SXT is also fully loaded with all the options - including dual power sliding doors. As an added bonus we purchased this van at a great price!

  • Why I keep buying Chrysler - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

As near perfect as one can want in driving behavior comfort appearance and performance. I prefer it to my BMW 5 series on both long and short journeys. This is the third model I have owned and purchsed new. I found the much vaunted Toyota Sienna to be a copy without the solid feel or the acceleration of the Chrysler product.

This is my second Caravan and they just seem to keep getting better and better. Easy to drive. Easy to get in and out of. Easy to maintain. Seems as though the engineers work hard and take heed to the consumer on what we look for.

If you have kids a minivan is a must. I choose this van because I think other mini vans are made for small people. I am 65 and the van fits me great. Kids love it and even when I have my seat adjusted my son has plenty of room.

  • not too shabby - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

The only van you can compare the Anniversary Edition to is the Toyota XLE Limited, which actually cost a few bucks more. Have had the car for 3 months, it has been perfect so far. I already have 7000 miles and is still running strong.Havent had any tranny or engine probs. Would recommend to anyone who wants a van.

  • Got to love it - 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

It has a smooth ride and excellent performance (weve only had it a few weeks and have already put several hundred miles on it). It gets better mileage than you would expect for a vehicle this size. Finding what you need to find under the hood is easy with the convenient yellow labeling of owner manageable items, such as oil dipstick, air filter, etc. The built in 6 disk DVD changer and flip down TV are great with the kids, and the push button remote key that opens the sliding side doors and the rear gate is awesome. This van has everything you could ask for and more.
